DOLL #2 - Simon & Halbig

This 22-inch German doll was manufactured by Simon & Halbig and bears the head marking "550 Germany Simon & Halbig." Dating from the early 1900s, she is dressed in a lavender satin ensemble featuring a matching hat with cream ribbon accents, a white fur capelet, layered ruffled skirts, patterned stockings, and cream-colored shoes. She carries a small floral bouquet and has auburn ringlet curls framing a finely painted bisque face with large brown sleep eyes, delicately painted eyebrows, rosy cheeks, and a softly parted mouth showing her teeth.

The doll remains in good overall condition. Areas of wear are visible on both hands, including paint loss and small chips to several fingertips. One foot has been repaired. The sleep eyes remain functional. Despite these condition issues, she presents beautifully and displays the refined craftsmanship and elegant styling associated with Simon & Halbig dolls.

Family records indicate this doll was purchased on eBay in 2010 for $278.
