DOLL #20 - French Bébé
This charming 13-inch French Bébé, marked DEP, was produced around 1900 and is commonly associated with the French doll tradition that followed the famous Jumeau designs. Dressed in a delicate pink silk dress with matching bonnet, she displays the classic blue paperweight-style eyes, finely painted features, and refined expression that made French bébés highly desirable at the turn of the twentieth century.
The doll is recorded in excellent condition and retains her sleep eyes, an especially appealing feature for collectors. Family records indicate a purchase price of approximately $1,000 on eBay in 2012. Her elegant costume, French styling, and strong overall condition make her a standout example of a DEP bébé and an attractive representative of the golden age of French doll making.
