DOLL #38 - J.D. Kestner

Antique German bisque doll by J.D. Kestner, marked mold 264, dating to 1916. Measuring approximately 11½ inches tall, this charming character doll wears a delicate gauze dress with lace trim and a decorated straw hat adorned with pink flowers. The doll retains her original characterful expression with softly blushed cheeks, open mouth, and dark curly hair beneath the hat.

The costume features cream-colored gauze fabric with decorative lacework at the bodice and sleeves, accented by warm golden and rose tones at the waist. Black strap shoes and period stockings complete the presentation. The doll's expressive face and curly wig create the sweet appearance collectors appreciate in later Kestner dolls.

Collection Notes: Condition noted as Good; however, the sleep eyes require repair and are presently non-functional. Wig has been replaced. Right middle finger has been repaired. General wear consistent with age and display.

Family Records: Sold on eBay in 2011 for $535. No additional paperwork noted.
