DOLL #40 - Simon & Halbig
Antique German bisque doll by Simon & Halbig, marked "SH 1039 DEP 5 Germany," dating from approximately 1890–1915. Measuring 13¾ inches tall, this elegant doll is dressed in a gauzy pale blue sheer dress with delicate pink ribbon accents and matching ribbon bows in her hair. The catalog notes list the doll in Good condition with some wear on the hands. One of her most distinctive features is her realistic glass eyes with natural eyelashes that look to the left.
Visible features include dark brown eyes that create a lifelike expression, finely painted facial details, an open mouth with visible teeth, and long brown hair styled with two ribbon-tied sections framing the face.
