DOLL #9 - J.D. Kestner

This 16.5-inch antique doll, attributed in family records to J.D. Kestner and dating to the 1890s, features large brown sleep eyes, painted brows, rosy cheeks, and a closed mouth. The doll is dressed in a window-pane plaid outfit accented with a prominent red ribbon tie and matching red trim at the collar and cuffs. Dark shoes, light stockings, and a short brown wig complete the presentation, giving the doll a distinctive character-style appearance.

The doll remains in excellent overall condition. Family records note the presence of working sleep eyes, and no replacement parts or restoration work are indicated. The facial painting remains attractive, and the costume presents well with only expected signs of age. Family records indicate this doll was purchased on eBay in 2010 for $275.
